About Madushka Harshana Athapaththu

The long way from a hand-me-down PC — I’m an IT specialist, founder of Zetova Journeys and Zetova Technologies, creator of the Glass toolkit (GlassPad & GlassCompress), and a traveler who learned the industry from both sides of the ticket counter.

I was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1997 and studied at Linfield International College in Arawwala. Around 2010 my grandfather gave me a PC. No classes, no mentor on speed dial — just curiosity, games, BIOS screens, and the quiet thrill of fixing what I had broken the night before.

That gift became a lifelong habit: install every Linux distro I could find (Mint, Ubuntu, Kali, Fedora, CentOS…), try Hackintosh builds, learn networks by making them fail, and teach myself web development, Python, ethical hacking, and later AI/LLM workflows. Along the way I got comfortable in Photoshop, video editing suites, Microsoft Office, and the terminal on Windows, macOS, and Linux — the same curiosity that now runs ComfyUI on my RTX 4070 battlestation. Today I hold Google IT Support Specialist and Google Cybersecurity certificates — formal stamps on a journey that started with trial and error.

In 2013 I moved to Negombo, the coastal city I still call home. In 2018 I entered the travel industry through airline work, mastering the GDS systems the trade runs on — Amadeus, Sabre, and Galileo. Hundreds of tickets, visa files for India, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand, and custom tour packages taught me that travel tech is only useful when it serves a human itinerary.

2023 took me to Malaysia twice — 38 days exploring with my own two feet. 2025 brought a year living in Japan: ramen, yakisoba, Japanese lessons (and a 1,450+ day Duolingo streak), a gaming PC build with an RTX 4070, and nights with VITURE Pro AR glasses. In April 2026 I visited Singapore.

Along the way I founded Zetova Journeys (travel) and Zetova Technologies (software and IT), and shipped the Glass toolkit — GlassPad, a free privacy-first browser word processor at glasspad.madushka.com, and GlassCompress, a private in-browser image compressor at glasscompress.madushka.com. I also vlog as wanderwithharshu.

The through-line is simple: self-learning as a lifestyle. Whether it is a stubborn driver, a fare rule, or a product UI, I would rather understand the system than wait for permission to learn it.
